There is something so special about being invited into a family's world

for an evening and simply documenting it as it unfolds.

A few years ago, I had the honor of photographing Allie and Christian's wedding, so being invited back to document this season of their lives felt especially meaningful. One of the greatest gifts of being a photographer is getting to witness not only the wedding day, but the beautiful chapters that follow.

This session took place at a beautiful Sebastopol Airbnb, and from the moment I arrived, it felt like the perfect setting for a Sonoma County family photography session. Gorgeous light poured through the property, the kids had endless places to explore, and every corner seemed to offer another beautiful backdrop. Instead of rushing from pose to pose, we moved naturally through the space, allowing moments to happen organically.

The laughter was constant. The cuddles were effortless. The children bounced between parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, soaking up all the love that surrounded them. There were little adventures, quiet moments, playful interactions, and the kind of genuine connection that makes family photographs meaningful for years to come.

When I get to create lifestyle family photography like this, it feels less like a photo session and more like stepping into a family's story. Following the Calleir family around this gorgeous vacation property felt like being on a beautifully designed set, except everything was real. Real laughter. Real relationships. Real memories being made right in front of me.

Photographing the Calleir family was a beautiful reminder that some of the most meaningful photographs happen during the in-between moments. Not the perfectly posed ones, but the moments filled with movement, connection, curiosity, and love.

From the beautiful Sebastopol Airbnb to the warm Sonoma County evening light, everything came together to create a session full of joy, adventure, and genuine family connection. Watching Allie and Christian as parents after photographing their wedding years ago was incredibly special, and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to document this chapter of their story.
